We desire to create UNITY through Community. The Banquet Ministry hosts monthly potlucks and organizes other fellowship events centered on connection, food, fellowship, and fun. Events include the Christmas Party, Pastor’s Appreciation Day, Passover, and other special events focused on community.

February Potluck Review

God is love. – 1 John 4:8
Everyone brought their favorite comfort food. The favorite was Doug’s tortilini soup!

Love Comfort Cruise

The theme for February was Comfort Food, and we themed the event around the Love Boat. (Valentines and all!)

Lots of food and dessert!

Warroad Community Church family showed up and brought many main dishes and enough desserts for everyone to enjoy. The comfort food included Tator Tot Hotdish, Goulash, Enchiladas, Chili, Tortilini Soup, Beef Stew too!

Events on Deck

We played Bingo and to our amazement, EVERYONE BINGO’d at the same time! Winners received a handful of Dove mixed chocolates!

Games & Gifts

Aniko Eastvold plays competitive hula hoops with others (not pictured). We also had a hockey foosball full size (people sit in chairs) game that the winner got a box of chocolates! (Winners not pictured)

Warroad Community Church set up a craft table and created Valentines Day card’s for our seniors. Pictured here are the first of a dozen that were created. We will deliver them to the senior center.

January Banquet had over 30 people participate. Pastor Gus brought a salad that was best described as rabbit food. (Very healthy!) The selections of soups ranged from Chicken Noodle, Southwest Chilcken, to Chili.

At the banquet we rolled out our 21 days of fasting and prayers. One of the events was to take a letter and seek the Lord what we should pray about.

Here are the letters we came up with and the topics we will be praying for:
U: Untouched Souls (Unsaved Souls)

Q: Quiet Hearts, Grateful Hearts
R: Rest in Jesus
T: Teachers in our community

Super Sunday – Soups, Salads, Subs, Sandwiches, Snacks, and Sides

Celebrating the greatness of God through Super Size! 

A prize will be rewarded to the biggest creation.

Examples:  Giant Cupcake, family sized burger, cake sized oreo cookie,

biggest meatball, XXL cinnamon roll

Celebrate the vibrant colors and flavors of Mexico.

Bring your favorite Mexican Inspired dishes. 

We will taste the different types of salt, meaning of salt, 

and discuss what Jesus said in

Matthew  5:13  “You are the salt of the world.”

We may just get a little crazy with the heat index of peppers. 

We will ring in summer via Grill and Chill.

Bring your BEST BBQ recipes for a flavor feast.

We will have a blind taste test of the best homemade BBQ sauce.

And a prize for Sundae King and Queen.

Hebrews 12:26-29 “And His voice shook the earth then, but now He has promised, saying, “Yet once more I will shake not only the earth but also the Heaven.”

This expression, “Yet once more,” denoted the removing of those things which can be shaken, as of created things, so that those things which cannot be shaken may remain. 

Therefore, since we receive a kindgom which cannot be shaken, let us show gratitude, by which we may offer to God an acceptable service with reverence and awe: for our God is a consuming fire.

We will discover the origin of paradise, The Garden of Eden.

Use your Imagination to create exotic dishes, reminding you of paradise.

Let’s share Thanksgiving together! Sign up to let us know what dish you will be 

bringing.  Feel free to stay as long as you like, eat as much as you want, or just pop

in for pie and coffee. Eitherway, the warmth your hearts will feel as you engage with 

the Family of God is sweeter than the best pumpkin pie. 

Romans 8: 15-16 “For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, 

but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons (and daughters) by which we cry out, “Abba! Father!” 

The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God.”

We will have an Ugly Sweater contest, ornament exchange, 

Wrapping Station, Toys for Tots donation, and lots of FUN GAMES!
